2012 Itinerary
NOTE: Expedition itinerary subject to change based on weather and discoveries made in the field!

Day One
Depart for Billings, Montana. After lunch with the expedition team in Billings, embark on a scenic drive with geology stops through the Bighorn Mountains. Arrive and check-in at the ranch in Shell, Wyoming. Enjoy dinner in Shell and a welcome with Project Exploration field education staff.

Day Two
Begin the morning with breakfast in Shell and orientation to fieldwork, fossil preparation, and vertebrate anatomy. Then head out to the field for site-work, excavation, and fossil prospecting. Dinner in Shell and an evening program with Dr. Paul Sereno.

Day Three
Breakfast and an exploration of local geology. Afterwards, a morning of prospecting and ongoing site work followed by lunch. Spend the afternoon back at the site. Return to Shell for dinner and then to the ranch for an evening program with Project Exploration scientists.

Day Four
Breakfast and an exploration of the Red Gulch Dinosaur Trackway, followed by lunch. A final opportunity to work the site in the afternoon. Return to the ranch for a barbecue dinner and expedition wrap-up.

Day Five
Breakfast and departure from the ranch. Travel to Billings Airport.

Proceeds from the Sereno Dinosaur Expedition will support Project Exploration’s youth programs, which impact the lives of hundreds of students each year.
